Start a New Workout or Rev Up an Existing One This Week
Not an athlete? Not a problem! This Monday, you can still celebrate the beginning of spring training by getting yourself into gear for a new season. Winter is winding down and it’s the perfect time to refresh your healthy routines or begin a new workout.
Now that the beginning of spring is in sight, it may be easier to motivate yourself to get more exercise. This is a great opportunity for you to ease yourself into an activity that is a bit more challenging. You don’t have to work quite as hard as the professional athletes who are starting their season, but you can work to get yourself to a new level. And don’t worry if you’ve been slipping up on your New Year’s resolution to get more fit – Monday is the perfect day to start fresh!
To refresh your current routine, figure out what you’ve liked doing the most. The best workouts are the ones you actually enjoy so you can keep doing them! If you’ve been sticking to the recommended 30 minutes of physical activity per day and feel ready to kick things up a notch, this is a great time to do it! Walk longer, do more reps, increase the weight you lift – find your favorite activity and do more of it.
If you feel ready to try something new, there are several possibilities to discover! Make the room in your schedule to venture out of the house or your regular gym. There are plenty of inexpensive ways to “taste test” your new favorite activity. You can even use the time to bring a friend and make your new workout a get-together. You and your “workout buddy” can try something new together and root each other on!
This Monday, let the pro-ballers inspire you to get moving!
